Direct Some Kindness to the Environment This Week  February 14-20 is Random Acts of Kindness Week.  This week is centered on looking beyond oneself and genuinely helping out other people and performing actions in an altruistic manner.  Along with assisting a neighbor or donating to a charity, consider several other green ways to show kindness during this week: 1) Throw away a piece of discarded litter when stopping to discard trash. 2) Plant a tree or a garden. 3) Volunteer to sort the recyclables for roommates or neighbors. 4) Decorate a pot and plant a flower inside and give that to a friend who might need a pick-me-up for a gift. 5) Donate old stuffed animals or blankets to an animal shelter.  Not only does that reduce waste, but dogs and cats will be very pleased with this donation!
